Bradley Cooper has officially embarked on his next directing venture, taking the reins of the upcoming prequel to "Ocean's," a film he will also star in alongside Margot Robbie. The news had long been rumored, and during Warner Bros.' CinemaCon presentation on Tuesday, studio heads Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy confirmed the exciting news. Although the film still doesn't have a title, it has been slated for release on June 25, 2027. Cooper, who most recently directed "Is This Thing On?," will also produce alongside Robbie's LuckyChap banner.

Robbie also made a virtual appearance earlier in the presentation, telling the Las Vegas audience, "Before Danny Ocean ever set foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows: his parents. You'll see them in their prime in our new movie, pulling off an epic heist at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix."
Warner Bros. released a plethora of release dates as well, including horror sequel "The Revenge of La Llorona" (April 9, 2027); "Evil Dead Wrath" (April 7, 2028); "Final Destination 7" (May 12, 2028); Zach Cregger's "The Flood" (August 11, 2028); "Weapons" prequel "Gladys" (September 8, 2028), and an untitled Baz Luhrmann film (November 22, 2028).
The studio also revealed that a "Game of Thrones" prequel movie is in the works. THR previously broke the news that Warner Bros. Discovery was developing both a TV show and a movie based on "Aegon's Conquest," and it seems the latter has won out, with the feature "Aegon's Conquest" teased during the panel.
As for the "Ocean's" movie, Lee Isaac Chung had previously been attached, but departed last month due to creative differences. A joint statement from Warner Bros. and LuckyChap released at the time read, "Lee Isaac is a singular filmmaking talent whose vision and partnership have been invaluable to Warner Bros. and LuckyChap throughout this journey. Our experience with him has only deepened our enthusiasm to collaborate on future projects together."
Warner Bros. launched the "Oceans" franchise in 2001 with Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's Eleven," which remade the studio's 1960 heist movie "Ocean's 11," starring Frank Sinatra and other Rat Pack members. George Clooney (who plays Danny Ocean), Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Matt Damon were among the stars of Soderbergh's film trilogy that concluded with 2007's "Ocean's Thirteen." In 2018, Warner Bros. released "Ocean's Eight," a spinoff of Soderbergh's trilogy directed by Gary Ross and starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Anne Hathaway.
