Charlie XCX is embarking on yet another spine-chilling cinematic journey, this time collaborating with the renowned Japanese horror maestro, Takashi Miike, whose cult classic "Audition" has left an indelible mark on the film industry. The hitmaker behind "Brat" will don a dual role, both headlining and producing the as-yet-untitled film, marking her second producing gig under her nascent Studio365 banner, following the upcoming mockumentary "The Moment," distributed by the esteemed A24. While the plot remains shrouded in secrecy, according to "Variety," the screenplay is being crafted by Ross Evans, the genius behind "How to Save a Marriage," a project currently in development at Sony with Robert Pattinson attached as a producer.

Fresh off her triple Grammy wins for her sixth studio album, the pop sensation, born Charlotte Emma Aitchison, has gracefully ventured into the realms of acting and producing, securing collaborations with several esteemed directors. Notably, her upcoming film with Miike is not unfamiliar territory for the versatile artist, as her feature film debut, "Faces of Death," was already a bold reimagining of the infamous 1978 horror film bearing the same name.

Though her foray into the film industry began with voicing characters in animated films such as "Angry Birds" and "Ugly Dolls," the "Girl, So Confusing" crooner has amassed an impressive slate of projects. She has lined up roles in "I Want Your Sex," "Sacrifice" alongside Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Salma Hayek, and "The Moment" directed by Aidan Zamiri. Additionally, the 32-year-old will star in Julia Jackman's period fantasy "100 Nights of Hero," sharing the screen with Nicholas Galitzine and Emma Corrin, as well as in Cathy Yan's thriller "The Gallerist," which boasts a star-studded ensemble including Natalie Portman, Jenna Ortega, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph.
