Produced by James Wan and helmed by Perkins, who also penned the screenplay, "The Monkey" narrates the tale of two brothers. After the monkey toy begins wreaking havoc by causing gruesome deaths, the siblings decide to dispose of it and strive to resume their lives, gradually drifting apart over the ensuing years. However, the monkey returns—furious and vengeful. The film stars Theo James in a dual role as both Bill and Hal, alongside Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O'Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy. What a harrowing trailer! It's excessively violent and gory, resembling a sinister twist on "Final Destination" with an abundance of imaginative kills. Absolutely, Perkins, continue to enchant us with your diabolically ingenious horror creations.

Based on Stephen King's short story, when twin brothers Bill and Hal uncover their father's old monkey toy in the attic, a chain of horrifying deaths ensues. The siblings opt to discard the toy and forge ahead with their lives, growing apart as the years pass. "The Monkey" is penned and directed by American filmmaker, writer, and actor Oz Perkins (also known as Osgood Perkins), who has previously directed horror films such as "The Blackcoat's Daughter," "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House," "Gretel & Hansel," and this year's "Longlegs," in addition to directing an episode of the new "The Twilight Zone" series. Adapted from Stephen King's short story originally published in Gallery magazine in 1980 (and featured in Skeleton Crew), it is produced by Dave Caplan, Michael Clear, Chris Ferguson, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and James Wan. Neon will release Perkins' "The Monkey" in theaters starting February 21st, 2025, soon to chill audiences this winter.
