In 2005, Crazy Frog captivated the charts with a dance-infused rendition of the unforgettable theme song from the Eddie Murphy-led franchise. On Friday, the streaming giant unveiled a dynamic new promo for the action-packed comedy, showcasing Crazy Frog's mischievous antics as he joins Murphy's character in the thick of the action, adding an extra layer of chaos to the proceedings. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Netflix shared the video with the captivating question, "CRAZY FROG AND AXEL FOLEY???" Drawing a response from T-Mobile, who aptly commented, "The GOAT of ringtones," Netflix responded with a witty, "Invented ringtones."

Created by Erik Wernquist in 2003 and initially marketed by Jamba!, Crazy Frog's version of "Axel F" — the franchise's iconic theme song originally composed by Harold Faltermeyer and first heard in the 1984 classic — soared to No. 1 in the U.K., Australia, France, and numerous other countries worldwide in 2005. This animated amphibian's rendition, with its gibberish-speaking frog, was a dance-focused reimagining of a version released two years prior by Murphy Brown and Captain Hollywood.

The Crazy Frog YouTube page aptly described the new promo as, "An iconic duo since 2005, Crazy Frog is back with a fresh music video for the Netflix Film Beverly Hills Cop." Directed by Mark Molloy, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F sees Murphy reprise his role as the iconic detective, alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, and Kevin Bacon, as Foley returns to Beverly Hills to protect his daughter, Jane (Paige), and long-time friend Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold).

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Molloy emphasized the significance of the franchise's music in the latest film. "For me, the music of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise encapsulates the identity and tone of the films so perfectly," he said. "It's crucial. The score and all those iconic tracks in Axel F are a huge part of its charm."
