AnnaLynne McCord has gracefully made her way from one legendary setting to another, captivating audiences with her entrance into the world of "Days of Our Lives." The former star of "90210" made her eagerly awaited debut on Wednesday's episode, but what mysterious forces have brought her to the town of Salem?

'Days Of Our Lives' Spoilers: Is AnnaLynne McCord Playing Abigail? 1

Despite the buzz surrounding McCord's big debut on "Days" social media channels, the actress's appearance was fleeting, confined to a single, shadowy scene. Not even a glimpse of her face was revealed, let alone a single spoken word.

For those not fluent in the language of "Days," let us set the scene: Chad (Billy Flynn) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) arrived in Chicago, following a lead that suggested Chad's presumed-dead wife Abigail might still be alive. Abigail's killer, Clyde (James Read), hinted that they would find answers in a safety deposit box, a task that took them half an episode to accomplish.

Inside the box, they found a flash drive containing grainy footage of what appeared to be an empty room. But as they watched closely, they noticed a visibly distraught woman pacing in circles. Could it be Abigail? This is the question Chad intended to ask Clyde upon returning to Salem, only to discover that the criminal had already been transferred to a maximum security prison, with no visitors allowed.

Like Chad and Julie, the audience is now left to ponder the identity of McCord's mysterious woman. Is she really Abigail, or is she someone completely different? And as this storyline unfolds, more questions are sure to arise, according to McCord herself.

"What we believe is that she's Abigail Devereux, returned from the dead," McCord reveals to our sister site Soaps.com. "But even if she is, and Chad is 'the love of her life,' she still doesn't feel anything for him because she doesn't know who she is. She's suffering from amnesia. She's been through a horrific accident. She's undergone plastic surgery. She's dealing with a whole range of issues, and she's navigating a truly treacherous situation when you first encounter her."

Hold on, plastic surgery and amnesia? What kind of show is this, a soap opera gone wild?

You tell us: Do you believe that McCord's character is truly Abigail, last portrayed by Marci Miller? Or is this all part of Clyde's cunning plan to escape prison? Share your theories with us in the comments below.
