Amy Adams steals the show in Nightbitch, portraying a stay-at-home mom whose ordinary domestic life takes an unexpected and surreal turn. The film, an adaptation of Rachel Yoder's satirical novel, joins other highly anticipated specials in the festival's lineup.

The Life of Chuck, based on Stephen King's eponymous 2020 short story, promises to thrill and chill in equal measure. Toronto, which will run from September 5 to 15 this year, will also honor David Cronenberg and Adams with career tributes as part of its esteemed Tribute Awards.

The Elton John documentary, helmed by directors David Furnish and R.J. Cutler, will be a gala highlight at Roy Thomson Hall. Joining it in the gala program are Woo Min-ho's Harbin, starring Hyun Bin, Lee Dong-wook, Park Jeong-min, and Jeon Yeo-been, and Chris Sanders' animated adventure The Wild Robot from DreamWorks Animation.

The Wild Robot features Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o as Roz, a robot stranded on an island and forced to adapt to her new surroundings. This heartwarming tale of survival and self-discovery is sure to charm audiences of all ages.

Rounding out the festival's Special Presentations sidebar is Nightbitch and Sydney Freeland's Rez Ball, another world premiere that promises to make a splash in Toronto.

"We know the TIFF audience has been eagerly anticipating what films will be coming to Toronto this September," said Anita Lee, chief programming officer in Toronto. "Today's announcement is a snapshot of what's to come this year: a wonderfully diverse array of titles that span genres and generations, offering something for everyone to discover and enjoy."
