"Behold the chaos you have unleashed..." After an eternity of anticipation, the arrival of this superhero film in theaters is almost upon us. Marvel has unveiled the final trailer for "Thunderbolts," their upcoming MCU installment—a dark comedy thriller that brings together an unorthodox team of anti-heroes to herald the summer movie season on May 2nd. Trapped in a lethal snare, this eclectic ensemble must undertake a perilous quest that compels them to confront the darkest recesses of their pasts.
The star-studded cast includes David Harbour portraying Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Wyatt Russell donning the mantle of U.S. Agent, Sebastian Stan reprising his role as Bucky, Lewis Pullman as Bob, alias "Sentry," and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, a.k.a. Black Widow. Rounding out the ensemble are Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, their handler. This trailer dives deep into the emotional undercurrents, positioning "Thunderbolts" as a high-stakes, gripping, and eerie thriller that overshadows the comedic tone of its predecessors. Moreover, the "Void"—the ominous villain bringing darkness—appears eerily menacing.
Take one final glimpse before it graces the silver screen in early May. "Be cautious in your choices of allies." A world devoid of the Avengers does not imply an absence of superhero groups. There is indeed a group, known as the Thunderbolts. This team comprises supervillains from the MCU recruited for government missions. Helmed by American filmmaker Jake Schreier, whose credits include "Robot & Frank," "Paper Towns," and segments of "Chance the Rapper's Magnificent Coloring World," along with numerous music videos and TV work, "Thunderbolts" is directed with precision. The screenplay, penned by Eric Pearson, Lee Sung Jin, and Joanna Calo, is based on the Marvel Comics created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley. Produced by Kevin Feige for Marvel Studios, "Thunderbolts" is set to debut worldwide on May 2nd, 2025, marking the dawn of the summer movie season.
