"Traumatika," a daring and visually striking new horror film that pushes the boundaries of experimentation, has been acquired by Saban Films for distribution across North America. Hailing from the collaborative efforts of co-writer and director Pierre Tsigaridis (renowned for "Two Witches") and co-writer and producer Maxime Rancon, Saban Films is strategically planning a theatrical release for this chilling masterpiece in 2025, with Rancon also taking on the role of executive producer.

Having made its debut at Australia's FrightFest and other indie horror circuits, "Traumatika" has garnered early praise for its genre-blending narrative and multi-faceted perspective that weaves a terrifying tapestry of scenes. The film centers on Mikey, whose nocturnal terrors materialize into a harrowing reality as his mother begins to exhibit signs of demonic possession. What Mikey is about to endure will forever haunt him and cast a dark shadow over countless lives spanning generations.

"This is not a film to be merely watched; it is a film to be experienced," emphasized Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker, co-presidents of Saban Films. "There's no more immersive way to confront the deeply disturbing world Pierre and Maxime have crafted than on the grand scale of the big screen. Be forewarned; preparing yourself for this film is a daunting task. Pierre and Maxime are storytelling geniuses, albeit of a deranged nature."

Tsigaridis reunites with his "Two Witches" star Rebekah Kennedy, joined by an ensemble that boasts AJ Bowen ("You're Next," "House of the Devil"), Sean Whalen ("The People Under the Stairs"), Ranen Navat ("Lucy and the Lake Monster"), Emily Goss ("The Accident"), and Susan Gayle Watts ("To Hell and Gone"). The director described the film as a harrowing blend of demonic possession, the raw intensity of slasher flicks, and the eerie realism of found footage. Rancon added, "Traumatika" is a passionate tribute to the horror subgenres we cherished and wereobsessed with during our formative years. It's a twisted, relentless journey that refuses to let go."

Saba handled negotiations for Saban Films, while Andrew van den Houten of 79th & Broadway Entertainment represented the filmmakers. Following its premiered at FrightFest last year, the film has been showcased at numerous festivals worldwide, including the San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, Morbido Film Fest, Fantaspoa, and GrimmFest.
