For the very first time in nearly four decades since its debut in 1987, Clive Barker's groundbreaking and subversive horror masterpiece, "Hellraiser," is making a triumphant return to theaters for a limited engagement, brought back to life by Fathom Events. On February 5th and 6th, moviegoers will have the opportunity to witness the newly remastered 4K version of this iconic film in select cinemas, accompanied by a fascinating 2004 interview titled "Under the Skin: Doug Bradley on Hellraiser," featuring the man who embodied Pinhead himself.
Based on Barker's chilling 1986 novella, "The Hellbound Heart," "Hellraiser" introduced audiences to the lurid and terrifying realm of the Cenobites – a group of extra-dimensional beings who thrive on sadomasochistic pleasures, unable to distinguish between pain and ecstasy. Led by Doug Bradley as the sinister Hell Priest, the film also boasts an ensemble cast including Andrew Robinson, Clare Higgins, Ashley Laurence, Sean Chapman, and Oliver Smith.
"Hellraiser" sparked a franchise that has spawned nine sequels, with the most recent addition being David Bruckner's 2022 reboot, also titled "Hellraiser." Now, for a brief moment in time, fans will be able to revisit the haunting world of the Cenobites on the big screen, in a visual experience that is as chilling as it is captivating.
