In the world of remakes, where the adage "there can be only one" is often tested, the reboot of 'The Highlander' is shaking things up. The new production, under the Amazon MGM and United Artists banner, is shaping up to be a visual spectacle, with an all-star cast that includes Siobhán Cullen, Jun Jong-seo, Nassim Lyes, and Kevin McKidd joining the ranks of Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Jeremy Irons, and Djimon Hounsou. Max Zhang and Drew McIntyre also add their unique talents to this action-packed fantasy.

Directed by Chad Stahelski, this cinematic journey takes us back to a Medieval Scotland where Connor MacLeod (Henry Cavill), a Highlander, discovers his immortal warrior destiny. With the aid of the swordsman Ramirez (Crowe), he embarks on a centuries-spanning quest to battle other immortals. As the iconic line from the 1986 original movie resonates, "There can be only one," the stakes are raised to a new level.

Dave Bautista takes on the role of The Kurgen, the film's formidable foe, while Karen Gillan portrays MacLeod's mortal Scottish wife. Djimon Hounsou brings his own brand of immortality as a warrior from Africa, while Marisa Abela is MacLeod's modern love interest. Jeremy Irons adds depth as the leader of The Watchers, a secret order that monitors the immortals and sees them as a threat to humanity.

Siobhán Cullen steps into the role of a police psychiatrist who stumbles upon the existence of immortals and strives to help MacLeod. Jun Jong-seo, known for her breakout role in Lee Chang Dong's 'Burning,' adds a new dimension to the story as a member of The Watcher sect. Nassim Lyes, a former national kick-boxing champion in France, brings his unique skills to his role as an immortal pursuing MacLeod. And Kevin McKidd, best known for his long-running role as Dr. Owen Hunt on 'Grey's Anatomy,' brings a sense of familiarity to the mix.

Michael Finch pens the script for this remake, with Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt producing alongside Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski's 87Eleven Entertainment, Josh Davis of Davis Panzer Productions, and Louise Rosner. The production was initially set to begin in the fall but was delayed after Cavill sustained an injury during pre-production. Filming will now commence early 2026.

Siobhán Cullen, Jun Jong-seo, Nassim Lyes, and Kevin McKidd join an impressive list of talent that includes previous mentions of Marisa Abela, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Jeremy Irons, and Djimon Hounsou. Each actor brings their unique brand of excellence to this epic tale of immortality and destiny.
