The collaboration between A24 and the Sundance Film Festival has been nothing short of brilliant in recent years, and they're back at it again with "I Saw the TV Glow," a thriller that premiered at the prestigious US film festival and is poised to become one of the most intriguing new movie releases in 2024.

In 2023 alone, Sundance served as a launchpad for two major A24 films, "Past Lives" and "Talk to Me." And in 2024, the mini-studio/distributor continued its festival dominance with the Kristen Stewart-starrer "Love Lies Bleeding" and, of course, "I Saw the TV Glow." The latter horror film received rave reviews from festival-goers, with some calling it a "one-of-a-kind masterpiece" that has moviegoers eagerly anticipating its release.

So, here's everything you need to know about "I Saw the TV Glow." A24 is bringing the film to movie theaters exclusively on May 3, 2024, in the United States. As of now, we're not certain about its release date in other regions, including the UK.

The May 3 release follows the film's premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it made a splash. But that's not all; "I Saw the TV Glow" also screened at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Feature and Best First Feature, and it's also playing at the 2024 South by Southwest Film Festival.

May is shaping up to be a busy month for movie theaters, with "I Saw the TV Glow" joining Ryan Gosling's action comedy "The Fall Guy" on the big screen.

Leading the cast of "I Saw the TV Glow" are Justice Smith as Owen and Brigette Lundy-Paine as Maddy. Smith has been a rising star in recent years, with notable roles in "The Get Down," "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom," "Pokemon: Detective Pikachu," "Generation," "Sharper," and the upcoming "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves." In addition to "I Saw the TV Glow," he also has another 2024 release, the satirical comedy "The American Society of Magical Negroes."

Lundy-Paine has also been building an impressive resume in their young career, with standout performances in "Atypical," "Bombshell," and "Bill & Ted Face the Music."

Rounding out the cast of "I Saw the TV Glow" are Ian Foreman (known for "Let the Right One In") as young Owen, Helena Howard (of "The Wilds") as Isabel, Fred Durst (of Limp Bizkit) as Frank, and Danielle Deadwyler (of "Till") as Brenda.

Based on an original script by Jane Schoenbrun, here's the official synopsis for "I Saw the TV Glow":

"Teenager Owen is navigating the suburbs of life, trying to make it through each day as best he can. But when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show, he's drawn into a supernatural world that exists beneath the surface of his reality. As he watches the pale glow of the television, Owen's perception of the world starts to crack, revealing a terrifying truth that he could never have imagined."
