A24, along with Escape Artists and Mandalay Pictures, are the driving forces behind Lee's "High and Low," which boasts a stellar cast including Jeffrey Wright and Ilfenesh Hadera. On Wednesday, A24 shared a captivating photo of Lee and Washington on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, "No. 5 now in production," a nod to their fifth collaboration. Their previous films, "Inside Man" (2006), "He Got Game" (1998), "Malcolm X" (1992), and "Mo' Better Blues" (1990), have left an indelible mark on cinema.

Kurosawa's original 1963 film centered around a Japanese shoe executive grappling with a moral dilemma during a high-stakes corporate takeover, when his chauffeur's son is kidnapped. It was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Film. Lee's "High and Low" is a captivating reimagining, brought to life by the combined genius of Lee, Alan Fox, and the supporting cast. A24 will release the film in theaters, prior to its streaming debut on Apple TV+.
