Kurosawa's original 1963 film centered around a Japanese shoe executive grappling with a moral dilemma during a high-stakes corporate takeover, when his chauffeur's son is kidnapped. It was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Film. Lee's "High and Low" is a captivating reimagining, brought to life by the combined genius of Lee, Alan Fox, and the supporting cast.
