In "Rebuilding," O'Connor shines as a rancher whose ranch is devoured by a devastating wildfire, forcing him to relocate to a FEMA camp. It is here that he reconnects with his daughter, ex-wife, and broader community, weaving a tale of resilience and redemption.
According to The Hollywood Reporter's review from Sundance, where the film garnered widespread acclaim, "Rebuilding" subverts the clichés of rugged individualism, presenting a communal vision of bravery and reinvention. It offers a path forward that embraces the past without being shackled by it—especially when the remnants of that past have been reduced to ashes.
