Lionsgate proudly unveiled today that "Mutiny," an exhilarating action thriller helmed by and starring Jason Statham, will make its grand debut on January 9, 2026. Slated to hit theaters just a week after Universal's spin-off "Soulm8te" from the blockbuster "M3GAN," "Mutiny" boasts an opening weekend devoid of competition from other major releases. Jean-François Richet, the director behind the thrilling "Plane," takes the helm for this riveting tale.
The narrative follows Cole Reed (Statham), who witnesses the brutal murder of his billionaire industrialist boss. Framed for the crime, Cole finds himself on the lam while unraveling an intricate international conspiracy. Joining Statham in this high-stakes adventure are Annabelle Wallis and Roland Møller, with a screenplay penned by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis. Statham also serves as a producer alongside Marc Butan.
Hot on the heels of the release of Mel Gibson's action-packed thriller "Flight Risk," Lionsgate is gearing up to present the heartwarming family drama "The Unbreakable Boy" on February 21. Among the studio's other noteworthy upcoming releases are "Freaky Tales" (April 4) and "Hurry Up Tomorrow" (May 16), promising a diverse array of cinematic experiences for moviegoers worldwide.
