Warner Bros. is meticulously organizing its upcoming line-up ahead of its presentation to theater owners at this year's CinemaCon, which kicks off on March 31 in Las Vegas. On Wednesday evening, the studio unveiled several high-profile adjustments to its release schedule, headlined by the relocation of director Maggie Gyllenhaal's Frankenstein adaptation, "The Bride," from September 26, 2025, to March 6, 2026. Starring Christian Bale opposite Jessie Buckley, "The Bride" has reportedly faced a turbulent post-production journey.

According to the studio, this film, an epic event in every sense, stands to gain from premiering during the spring holiday season and school breaks. Moreover, an earlier release date does not disqualify it from being an awards season contender.

In another significant shift, the release of Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another," featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, has been postponed from August 8, 2024, to September 16, 2025, the former slot occupied by "The Bride." This adjustment will facilitate a global Imax release and provide the studio with ample time to install projection systems compatible with VISTA VISION. Sources suggest that this may mean the director's latest offering will forgo its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, but its late September debut aligns perfectly with the fall film festival circuit.

Boasting a budget exceeding $130 million, "One Battle After Another" marks Anderson's most ambitious and costly project to date, amidst scrutiny facing Warner Bros. following a string of box office underperformances. Rumored to be inspired by Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel "Vineland," the Leonardo DiCaprio-led ensemble also includes Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro, among others.

Fans of filmmaker Zach Cregger, known for "Barbarian," will rejoice to learn that his horror epic "Weapons" has been moved up from January 11, 2026, to August 8, 2025. This multi-layered narrative stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Amy Madigan, Benedict Wong, and Cary Christopher.

The two other notable changes announced on Wednesday include Warner Bros. Pictures Animation's "The Cat in the Hat," advancing from March 6, 2026, to February 27, 2026, and David Robert Mitchell's "Flowervale Street," being postponed from March 13, 2026, to August 14, 2026. "Flowervale Street" boasts an impressive cast featuring Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, Jordan Alexa Davis, and P.J. Byrne. More updates are expected to follow.
