Directed by Travis Knight, the film, which is slated for a June 5, 2026, theatrical release by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel, pays homage to the original franchise's tone. Knight shared with Empire, "There's an inherent silliness to it, which we are acknowledging and embracing. I think it's a virtue, actually. And it's woven into the script to help some of these things make sense to a modern audience."

Galitzine steps into the role of Prince Adam / He-Man, while Brie plays the role of Evil-Lyn. The film also stars Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan / Man-At-Arms, and Jared Leto as Skeletor. Additional cast members include James Purefoy as King Randor, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, and Kristen Wiig as Roboto.

Mattel launched "Masters of the Universe" in 1982 as a toy line, which later expanded into an animated series titled "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" from 1983 to 1985. The franchise has since grown to encompass comics, video games, and even a 1987 live-action film.

The 2026 live-action reboot follows Prince Adam's journey back to Eternia after a 15-year hiatus from the Power Sword, where he discovers that Skeletor has taken control of his home world. The film promises to be a thrilling ride for fans of the iconic franchise.
