Michael B. Jordan has spoken candidly about his pal Jonathan Majors following the latter's conviction in December 2023. In a profile for GQ, Jordan was queried about his Creed III co-star, who was dismissed from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2023 amidst pending projects, subsequent to being convicted on two counts of domestic violence. While Jordan had refrained from commenting on Majors' arrest and conviction in earlier instances, the actor admitted that witnessing the ordeal had been "an arduous situation."

"Yet, he's thriving and recently got engaged," Jordan continued, alluding to Majors' fiancée, actress Meagan Good. "I'm immensely proud of his resilience, strength, and the manner in which he's navigated this. I'm relieved he's doing well. He's like a brother to me." When pressed on whether he would collaborate with Majors again, Jordan responded emphatically, "Absolutely."

Just last week, Jordan posted the trailer for Majors' forthcoming film Magazine Dreams on Instagram. Originally hailed as an Oscars contender for Majors after its Sundance premiere in 2023, the film faced a setback when Searchlight Pictures dropped it, leaving its fate uncertain. It will now see the light of day on March 21, distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment, through The Apprentice. Majors harbors hopes that this film will catalyze a career resurgence.

Majors, who portrayed Kang the Conqueror in the MCU, echoed his bond with Jordan on the red carpet for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023, also touching upon their mutual support amid "girl troubles." "We share an exceptionally amicable relationship; he's my closest buddy," Majors revealed to ET. "We stand by each other through thick and thin, whether it's Marvel-related or personal issues. He's my brother, plain and simple."

In December 2023, a split jury verdict found Majors guilty of third-degree reckless assault and harassment, while acquitting him of third-degree intentional assault and second-degree aggravated harassment. He was sentenced to participate in a domestic violence treatment program in April 2024. Consequently, he lost the chance to reprise his role as Kang in the subsequent two Avengers films, which have taken a different creative path.

Meanwhile, Jordan is reuniting with writer-director Ryan Coogler for the supernatural horror flick Sinners, portraying twin brothers returning to their hometown to confront a mysterious evil. Sinners is set for release on April 18. Additionally, he will don the hats of both director and lead actor in an upcoming remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.
