Netflix, alongside Colombian megastar Karol G, announced on Monday, December 30, the forthcoming release of a documentary feature dedicated to her in 2025. This ambitious project will be steered by the talented Emmy Award-winning director and producer, Cristina Costantini.
Through her social media platforms, Karol G, the voice behind the hit "Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido," shared a heartfelt message with her vast fanbase about the impending film. A note adorned with red hearts and the Netflix logo proclaimed, "A tale woven from dreams once deemed impossible, fueled by an unyielding belief. A tenacious odyssey that overcame every obstacle. My life, my craft, my reality—and the profound bond I share with you all. My dream has materialized."
While keeping the specifics under wraps, a Netflix press release tantalizingly described the documentary as "an intimate glimpse into the life of a global music legend—uncovering the woman who fuels the artist." Since her meteoric rise in 2016, Karol G, born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, has cemented her status as a dominant force in the global music landscape.
Last year, the 33-year-old trailblazer etched her name in history with her album Mañana Será Bonito, marking the first time a female artist's entirely Spanish-language album topped the Billboard 200 chart. In July, Karol G wrapped up her Mañana Será Bonito World Tour, grossing a staggering $313 million, now claiming the title of the highest-grossing Latin tour by a woman in Boxscore history, surpassing her own 2022 tour, $trip Love Tour.
Produced by This Machine, a division of Sony Pictures Television, in collaboration with Bichota Films and Interscope Films, Karol's documentary feature boasts executive producers John Janick and Nir Seroussi from Interscope.
