On Thursday, Searchlight Pictures unveiled that the highly anticipated sequel to its 2019 horror-comedy hit "Ready or Not" will premiere in theaters on April 10, 2026. Entitled "Ready or Not: Here I Come," the film welcomes Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood to join series protagonist Samara Weaving in what promises to be another thrill-ride.
Returning to the director's chair are Radio Silence's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, alongside screenwriters Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, who are all reprising their roles from the original.
Production for the movie, which commenced earlier this spring, has completed its casting ensemble with the additions of Kathryn Newton, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand (of "Abigail" fame), Olivia Cheng, and renowned horror filmmaker David Cronenberg.
"Ready or Not: Here I Come" is being produced by a stellar team comprising Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak. Serving as executive producers are Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Paul Neinstein, Busick, Murphy, and Weaving, with Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh overseeing the project for Searchlight.
Details about the film's intricate plot remain tightly under wraps, building anticipation among fans. The original "Ready or Not" centered around Weaving's character, a bride who discovers her new family's macabre wedding night ritual—a murderous game intended to uphold an ancient pact with the devil. The film garnered moderate critical acclaim and commercial success, amassing $28 million domestically and over $57 million worldwide against a $6 million budget.
Producers Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak are once again helming the sequel.
