The official synopsis teases an intriguing tale: "Plunged into a web of intrigue after a humbling workplace mishap, William Ronald Trosper (played by Robinson) embarks on a quest to uncover a sprawling conspiracy." Alongside Robinson, the star-studded cast boasts Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, Joseph Tudisco, and Lou Diamond Phillips, promising a comedic extravaganza.

"William Ronald Trosper, a character imbued with the unique stamp of Tim and Zach's genius, proudly continues HBO's legacy of exceptional comedy leads," enthused Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President of HBO & Max Comedy Programming. "I am thrilled beyond measure to announce the acquisition of this riotously entertaining series."

Robinson and co-executive producer Kanin echoed their excitement, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with HBO, HyperObject, and the remarkable cast and crew who brought "The Chair Company" to life. "We are brimming with excitement and gratitude to be working with HBO, HyperObject, and our incredible team to bring this show to fruition," they said.

Adding another feather to its cap, the pilot episode was helmed and executive produced by Andrew DeYoung, who recently directed Robinson in the critically acclaimed TIFF selection, "Friendship." This feature, also starring Paul Rudd, garnered rave reviews upon its debut, with IndieWire's David Ehrlich likening it to a feature-length "I Think You Should Leave" sketch, emphasizing Robinson's humor rooted in delightful chaos.

"The Chair Company" further solidifies McKay's prolific partnership with HBO, following his producing credits on "Winning Time" and "Succession," with additional projects like Bong Joon-Ho's "Parasite" series in the pipeline. This upcoming series promises to be another masterpiece in the annals of HBO's storied comedy history.
