Prime Video is enhancing its ensemble for the highly anticipated "Legally Blonde" prequel, titled "Elle," with the addition of Tom Everett Scott to its star-studded cast. The series, which delves into the teenage years of Elle Woods (portrayed by Lexi Minetree), welcomes Scott on board. Scott, who is currently seen in Prime Video's "The Summer I Turned Pretty," will embody the character of Wyatt, Elle's father, with June Diane Raphael playing her mother, Eva.

In May 2024, Amazon-owned Prime Video greenlit "Elle" for series production, with creator Laura Kittrell ("Insecure," "High School") taking on the dual role of co-showrunner alongside Caroline Dries ("The Vampire Diaries," "Batwoman"). Reese Witherspoon, who famously brought Elle Woods to life in the two "Legally Blonde" films, executive produces alongside Lauren Neustadter under their Hello Sunshine banner, along with Marc Platt, the producer of the original movies. Amazon MGM Studios serves as the studio behind this venture.

The series synopsis captures the essence of "Elle," stating, "Set amidst the vibrant backdrop of high school, 'Elle' charts the journey of Elle Woods, unraveling the pivotal life experiences that molded her into the beloved and iconic figure we met in the first 'Legally Blonde' film."

Currently featuring in the third and final season of "The Summer I Turned Pretty," set to debut on Prime Video in July, Scott boasts an impressive TV resume that includes "13 Reasons Why" and "I'm Sorry." His film credits span an array of hits, such as "That Thing You Do!," "Because I Said So," and the Oscar-nominated "La La Land," among many others. Scott is represented by Gersh and John Carrabino Management.
