Tyriq Withers is set to star alongside Maika Monroe in the highly anticipated feature film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, "Reminders of Him." Vanessa Caswill will helm this Universal Pictures production, bringing Hoover's poignant tale of motherhood and the transformative power of love to the big screen.
Monroe, previously announced as the lead character Kenna Rowan, will shine in her role, while Withers will captivate audiences as Ledger Ward, a former professional athlete. Hoover, who co-wrote the script with Lauren Levine, has been instrumental in shaping this heartfelt project, producing it under her Heartbones Entertainment banner alongside Levine. Gina Matthews of Little Engine Productions also joins the producing team, with Robin Fisichella serving as executive producer. Overseeing the project for Universal is Christine Sun, the studio's director of production development.
Withers' upcoming credits are as impressive as they are diverse. He will soon be seen in Sony's chilling reboot of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and in Universal's horror thriller "Him," produced by Jordan Peele and starring Marlon Wayans. His television resume boasts notable roles in "The Game," "Atlanta," and "Tell Me Lies," showcasing his versatility and range.
Hoover's books have garnered immense popularity, with the success of Sony's "It Ends With Us" last year catalyzing a surge in interest. At CinemaCon last week, Amazon MGM Studios teased its upcoming 2026 adaptation of Hoover's "Verity," starring Anne Hathaway, while Paramount used the Las Vegas event to promote its feature film version of "Regretting You," starring Allison Williams, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames, and Scott Eastwood.
First published in 2022, "Reminders of Him" has sold over 6 million copies in the United States, joining Hoover's other bestselling titles such as "It Starts with Us," "Layla," "Heart Bones," and "Confess." Represented by CAA, Narrative, and Jackoway Austen, Withers is poised to captivate audiences with his performance in this emotional and compelling film adaptation.
