Dark Sky Films has unveiled the official trailer for the chilling indie horror flick titled 'Bark,' poised to haunt VOD platforms in the US this June. Having made its debut at the esteemed Fantastic Fest in Austin in 2023, and screened at a handful of other festivals last year, this German-produced, English-language film delves into a bizarre horror narrative.
Imagine a man waking up, straps digging into his skin, as he finds himself tethered to a tree in the midst of a desolate forest, grappling with the daunting questions of his whereabouts and the unfolding events. A plot so eerie, it sends shivers down one's spine! Nolan Bentley (Michael Weston) awakens in this isolated, foreboding woods, his memories a void, and with time dwindling, he must confront the sinister specters of his past and battle for survival, seeking a path out of his harrowing nightmare.
Accompanied by A.J. Buckley and Ricky Watson, Michael Weston's portrayal of Nolan is just the tip of the iceberg; the cast and storyline weave a complex web. The trailer begins with Nolan's plight, stranded in the forest, before hinting at a deeper, psychological thriller beneath the surface. It's a visual delight for horror enthusiasts.

Helmed by German producer-director Marc Schölermann, whose credits include 'Pathology' (2008) and numerous shorts and music videos, 'Bark' is produced by Alexander Steinhoff and Schölermann himself. Filmed in Germany but crafted as an English-language production, 'Bark' premiered at Fantastic Fest 2023 and hit DVD shelves in Germany late in 2024. Dark Sky Films will unleash Schölermann's harrowing 'Bark' onto US VOD platforms from June 13th, 2025 onwards.
