Apple TV+ is embarking on a nostalgic journey back to the glitz and glamour of Palm Beach circa 1969. "Palm Royale" hails from Apple Studios and the visionary mind of creator Abe Sylvia (Dead to Me, Nurse Jackie). The series stars Kristen Wiig as Maxine Simmons, a determined woman who aspires to ascend into the elite circles of Palm Beach's high society in 1969. She goes to extraordinary lengths (and spends exorbitant sums) to achieve her glamorous goal.

Rounding out the ensemble cast are Allison Janney, Laura Dern (who also serves as an executive producer), Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, and Kaia Gerber. Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett lend their talents to recurring roles, adding yet another layer of star power to this already illustrious cast.

In a statement, Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, expressed his enthusiasm for the show's continuation: "'Palm Royale' has captivated audiences worldwide, and we're thrilled that viewers will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the lives of this highly entertaining and iconic cast. From Kristen Wiig to the legendary Carol Burnett, we can't wait for everyone to experience the next brilliantly witty chapter in the story of Palm Beach's elite society, brought to life by Abe Sylvia, Kristen, Laura Dern, and the incredible team behind the show."

Laura Dern herself echoed this excitement, stating: "We are thrilled to hear about season two. Jayme [Lemons] and I, along with Jaywalker Pictures, have been dreaming up this project for so long, hoping that audiences would enjoy the wild ride through the world of 'Palm Royale.' We can't wait to get started and continue this journey."

Palm Royale stands as a vibrant addition to the comedy lineup at Apple TV+, joining an illustrious roster that boasts hit series such as Shrinking, Loot, The Big Door Prize, Acapulco, and Platonic. The series, brought to life by Sylvia's vision, takes loose inspiration from Juliet McDaniel's charming novel, Mr. & Mrs. American Pie. Sylvia not only serves as the showrunner but also executive produces alongside Wiig, Dern, and Lemons of Jaywalker Pictures, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Tate Taylor who directed three episodes of season one, John Norris for Wyolah Films, and the talented trio of Sharr White, Sheri Holman, and Boat Rocker. Together, they bring a unique and hilarious perspective to the screen, promising viewers a comedic treat that's sure to leave them laughing out loud.
