50 Cent settles assault case ahead of Diddy Netflix doc

Published: Nov 27 2025

Rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, has finally arrived at a compromise in a civil assault lawsuit just days before the release of the Netflix documentary he produced on Sean "Diddy" Combs. The suit was initiated by Guadalupe de los Santos, who alleges that the incident took place in September 2024. According to the complaint, while de los Santos was waiting at a traffic light on his scooter in Los Angeles, 50 Cent approached him from behind. The front passenger door of his SUV "suddenly and forcefully" opened, striking de los Santos and knocking him off his scooter. The plaintiff claimed that the act was carried out at Jackson's direction and sought damages for assault, battery, emotional distress, and negligence.

The case was originally filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court and later moved to the US District Court for the Central District of Florida. Jackson had filed a motion to dismiss with a hearing scheduled for December 22. However, on November 25, the two sides reached an agreement in principle and are now finalizing a formal settlement. The timing of this agreement coincides with the upcoming release of Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a four-part Netflix docuseries produced by Jackson that premieres on December 2. The series delves into Diddy's rise in music and the criminal world around him after his federal convictions, adding an unexpected layer of drama to the already intense legal battle.
