On Tuesday, Adidas announced that it had reached an amicable out-of-court settlement with rapper Ye, bringing an end to all legal disputes between the two parties, clarifying that no financial compensation was exchanged as part of the agreement. This resolution marks the conclusion of a two-year legal battle that began when the German sportswear giant terminated its partnership with the artist, formerly known as Kanye West, due to his antisemitic remarks.
"All pending matters have been resolved, with no monetary exchange involved, allowing us both to proceed with our respective journeys," Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden shared with reporters during a conference call, declining to divulge further specifics of the settlement. "There were numerous contentious issues at play, but after aligning the respective claims on both sides, both parties agreed that continuing the fight was unnecessary and withdrew all pending claims," Gulden added, painting a picture of a mutual decision to part ways amicably.
