The accomplished actor confessed, "It's challenging to embrace such an honor when the world is grappled with immense suffering. My heart extends its deepest condolences to all the affected families, animals, and our colleagues who are enduring this harrowing time." "This is our shared community," Brody emphasized, "and I want to express my utmost gratitude and admiration for the unwavering bravery, sacrifices, and invaluable work of the first responders, which今晚 deserve our highest recognition." His heartfelt sentiment was met with a thunderous applause and cheers from the audience.

"I want to convey that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this harrowing event," concluded the actor, who portrayed László Tóth in 'The Brutalist'. "They are in my heartfelt prayers, and I am confident that we are all united in praying for their safety and well-being."

Brody, who garnered the award for his exceptional performance, also thanked the New York Film Critics Circle for honoring him.

Across Los Angeles, hundreds of firefighters have been deployed to tackle multiple infernos, including the Palisades Fire that erupted on Tuesday morning, January 7, and the Eaton Fire that broke out in the evening.

As of 8:00 p.m. on January 8, the Palisades Fire had engulfed 15,832 acres with zero containment, while the Eaton Fire had consumed 10,590 acres, also with zero containment, according to the L.A. County Fire Department.

Additional fires are blazing in the Hollywood Hills, Acton, and Sylmar. Strong winds have exacerbated the responders' challenges, as the fires continue to spread across the region, entering their third day of devastation.
