James Kennedy and Ally Lewber have decided to end their romantic relationship, mere weeks after Kennedy's arrest on domestic violence charges amidst the backdrop of their appearance on "Vanderpump Rules." On Wednesday, Lewber took to her Instagram Stories to confirm the couple's breakup, following news that Kennedy would face no criminal charges stemming from the December 2024 incident.

"I'm relieved that prosecutors chose not to press charges against James, as I never wanted criminal proceedings to ensue," Lewber penned. "Our disagreement outside his home revolved around his relapse into drinking, but physically, I remained unscathed. The headlines left me stunned, and the portrayal of the event disheartened me deeply."

On December 10, 2024, the Burbank, California police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence, which culminated in Kennedy's arrest. Initially booked on misdemeanor domestic violence charges, he was later released on bail, according to Burbank authorities. Although Lewber's identity was not disclosed by police at the time, the pair was spotted at a Christmas bash hosted by Kathy Hilton on the night of Kennedy's arrest.

Despite their separation, Lewber emphasized, "Though we are no longer a couple, I will always stand by James and wish him the very best in his journey towards sobriety and healing."

USA TODAY reached out to Kennedy's representative for comment regarding the split. This development follows Scott Leemon, Kennedy's attorney, announcing on Wednesday that the Burbank City Attorney's Office would not pursue charges against Kennedy.

"I extend my gratitude to them for conducting a meticulous and professional examination of the case concerning my client," Leemon stated in a press release obtained by USA TODAY. "Their thorough investigation substantiated our stance from the outset—that there was no basis for filing any charges against Mr. Kennedy."

He continued, "James is thankful to have this matter resolved and looks ahead with optimism, focusing on his commitment to sobriety and his DJ career."

USA TODAY also reached out to the Burbank City Attorney's Office for further commentary. Kennedy and Lewber, both former cast members of the Bravo reality series "Vanderpump Rules," which chronicles the lives of staff working at restaurants owned by Lisa Vanderpump, an alumnus of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," found themselves in the spotlight amidst this saga. Notably, the show's 12th season, announced in November, will feature an entirely fresh ensemble.
