The 2009 horror-comedy flick, "Jennifer's Body," has garnered a dedicated cult-like following in the ensuing years, despite its initial box office disappointment, primarily due to a misleading marketing campaign. In a recent GQ video, Seyfried reminisced about some of her most memorable roles, with "Jennifer's Body" standing out prominently. "I can't critique this movie," she professed. "For me, it's a masterpiece."

The film featured Seyfried as Needy, a bespectacled bookworm whose BFF is Megan Fox's Jennifer, who gets possessed by a demon and embarks on a boy-eating spree at their high school. Directed by Karyn Kusama and penned by Diablo Cody (renowned for "Juno" and "Young Adult"), it was a unique blend of horror and humor.

The promotional campaign aimed squarely at the male audience, showcasing Fox in sensual posters and advertisements. However, the movie's core themes revolved around female empowerment and friendship. "If critics had any bones to pick, it would be with the marketing," Seyfried admitted. "It was terrible, and we all agree."

"Karyn is a fierce advocate for women in storytelling," Seyfried continued. "She excels at enhancing the bond between women in film and TV." She praised Kusama's direction, stating, "She pieced it all together so beautifully, but the marketing team turned it into a cheap, bloody spectacle. They ruined it."

The "Mamma Mia!" star heaped praise on the film's special effects, stunts, and, notably, the girl-on-girl action. "We expressed a certain angst in a very specific, comedic manner," she shared.

As "Jennifer's Body" continues to gain traction over time, Seyfried expressed her excitement about a potential sequel. "Karyn and Diablo made a great team, and Megan and I did too," she revealed. "I'm eagerly anticipating the sequel. They're working on it, and I've already given my thumbs up. I'm ready whenever they are."

Earlier this month, Seyfried also spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about a sequel, stating, "It's aged gracefully. I think there's going to be another one. We're all on board."

Regarding where the characters might be today, Seyfried has some intriguing ideas. "I want to see Needy in a position of power," she mused. "Not necessarily in a power suit, but in a role where she wields influence. Maybe she's running her own Planned Parenthood branch or something. She's a badass. As for Megan, I'm not sure. She's probably someone's chief of staff, but she's... dead, right? [Spoiler alert!] But is she really? I don't think so."
