T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are getting serious about the prospect of expanding their family. On their podcast, *Amy & T.J.*, the couple delved into the intricate dynamics and possibilities of having a child together. Robach, 52, who has two daughters, Ava, 22, and Annalise, 19, from her previous marriage to Andrew Shue, and Holmes, 48, who has three children—Brianna and son Jaiden from his first marriage to Amy Ferson, and daughter Sabine, 12, from his second marriage to Marilee Fiebig—opened up about their thoughts on the matter.

Holmes candidly revealed that he frequently broaches the subject of having kids, to which Robach responds with laughter. "We've been talking more lately about having kids," Holmes shared. "We've even discussed the idea of adopting a child, and it's usually me who brings it up." He joked that he might need to pen a letter to his own advice column for guidance on how to broach the topic with Robach.

Robach explained her reaction, attributing her laughter to a diagnosis she received in 2013. At that time, she was told she was "out of the baby-making business" after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Although she entered remission in 2014, the news was heart-wrenching at the time. "I can laugh about it now because that ship sailed a long time ago," she said. "That's why I chuckle—because, yes, it was a painful thing to hear at 40."

Despite her past diagnosis, Robach expressed her profound love and appreciation for children. "I mean this sincerely—my girls have now flown the nest—but having Sabine around brings so much joy," she said. "I truly appreciate and actually look forward to, and love having, that childlike sweetness around. It's wonderful."

Both Holmes and Robach emphasized that they treat each other's children as their own, yet they also expressed a shared desire to have a biological child together. "It's not just about watching you with your girls and you watching me with mine," Holmes remarked. "It's really about when you're with someone, you can't help but want to create your own little family unit."
