Amy Schumer Clarifies Why She Deleted All Her Pre-Weight Loss Social Media Photos

Amy Schumer is setting the record straight on her recent social media purges, addressing the criticism that came her way after she deleted all the pre-weight loss photos from her online platforms. "Hey media outlets, I didn't delete my old photos because they were 'pre' me losing weight," Amy penned on Instagram on November 12th. "That's a narrative you created. I'm proud of how I've looked always."

The 44-year-old comedian, who shares a 6-year-old son with husband Chris Fischer, doesn't focus on the number of pounds she's lost when reflecting on her body's transformation. "I've been working to be pain-free and I finally am," she explained. "My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome, so my face went back to normal. I'm grateful to be strong and healthy, especially for my son."

Amy, who was diagnosed with Cushing's syndrome in 2024, emphasized that she "didn't purposefully go on a weight-loss journey." "That's a fine thing to go on," she continued. "But my focus has been on health. I'm sure my weight will always fluctuate."

As for what inspired the changes to her social media page, it was a bit of creative expression. "Your Instagram is not your identity; it's a curation of what you want the world to see," she said. "And I feel great, strong, and beautiful, and it's been fun sharing that."

The Trainwreck actress added, "Wishing you strength and self-love on whatever path you're on as long as it's kind and respectful to all people. No matter their weight, race, or religion, peace!"

Amy first debuted her slimmer figure in October when she shared a photo of herself in a black minidress from a girls' trip to Vegas. And while she has seen major results over the last year, the I Feel Pretty star has been trying out different methods to improve her health as far back as 2022—including briefly taking Ozempic, a Type 2 diabetes medication often used as a weight loss drug. "I was bedridden," Amy said of her experience with the medication during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in January. "I was vomiting and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they're all good, so God bless them."
