Andy Cohen Addresses Theory He Knew About Amanda Batula, West Wilson Romance

Andy Cohen isn't shielding behind the fifth amendment when it comes to 'Summer House's latest love triangle. The bombshell revelation that Amanda Batula and West Wilson are dating has sparked various reactions from their fellow Bravo stars, with many sharing their thoughts and setting the record straight on when they first learned about their romance. This includes the 'Watch What Happens Live!' host, who revealed he was just as shocked as the fans to learn about the new couple.

"I saw a lot of conspiracy theories online yesterday that I somehow knew about this," Andy told fans during his SiriusXM Andy Cohen Live radio show on April 1, before clarifying, "I did not."

The revelation of their romance caused quite a stir, especially since Amanda and her estranged husband Kyle Cooke had confirmed their separation just two months prior. Additionally, the drama between West's 2023 breakup with Amanda's BFF Ciara Miller had only recently settled on the latest season of 'Summer House.'

Noting that he "really feels for Ciara" amid the cast's friendship fallout, Andy added that he was somewhat puzzled by Amanda and West's joint statement confirming their romance on March 31. "I was surprised by the statement," the 57-year-old noted. "I was surprised by what it said and I was surprised by what it didn't say."

Fortunately, Andy is scheduled to host the reunion for season 10 of the Bravo reality series later this month. "I have so many questions," the father of Ben, 7, and Lucy, 3, admitted. "And the reunion is coming up, and boy, do I have a lot of questions."

While Amanda and West have received some backlash after going public with their relationship—especially since Ciara fully supported her BFF through Amanda's split from Kyle—Andy shared a warning with Bravo viewers. As he put it, "I do think it's worth reminding everybody, all the passionate fans of the show, that these are real people involved."

Andy emphasized that "there's a middle ground" between overreacting and taking the news in stride. "But just know," he advised, "these are real people who are dealing with a lot."

In their joint statement, Amanda and West explained why they waited nearly a month to address the speculation about their "very new" romance. "Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it," the couple wrote. "Through all the highs and lows, what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care."

They added, "We also recognize that this has never had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this."

Though Ciara has not directly commented on the drama, Kyle subsequently broke his silence on his ex-wife moving on with his good friend. "I'm good, I'm actually really worried about Amanda, if I'm being honest," he told NYC-based journalist Adam Glyn in a TikTok video posted on April 1. "I talked to her before their statement came out. She gave me a heads up, and I talked to her last night. I understand people have all sorts of opinions, and I'm not justifying any kind of behavior, but from what I'm seeing, she's kind of getting cyber-bullied."

"Amanda knows that what she did was wrong," Kyle added. "And she's trying to come to terms with it. But she is not well."
