Anna Sawai, renowned for her captivating performance in *Shogun* and Aimee Lou Wood, the star of *The White Lotus*, are reportedly in the midst of negotiations to secure major roles in the highly anticipated upcoming Beatles film. Sawai is slated to portray Yoko Ono, the multifaceted artist, singer-songwriter, and widow of John Lennon. The couple tied the knot in 1969, but their union was tragically cut short when Lennon was fatally shot by a deranged fan outside their Upper West Side apartment in the Dakota building in 1980.
Sawai is set to share the screen with Harrison Dickinson, who has been cast as Lennon. Meanwhile, Wood is in talks to play Pattie Boyd, the model who first crossed paths with George Harrison (played by Joseph Quinn) at the tender age of 19 on the set of the Beatles' 1964 film *A Hard Day’s Night*. The pair married in 1966, but their relationship began to unravel after the band disbanded in 1970, leading to their eventual divorce in 1977. Boyd herself welcomed the news of Wood's potential casting, posting on her X account, "Big news, indeed! I'm looking forward (and hoping) to meet Aimee Lou at some point in the future."
However, as reported by *Variety*, the deals for Sawai and Wood have not yet been finalized, and their participation in the film remains uncertain. The confirmed cast lineup also includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Saoirse Ronan cast as McCartney’s first wife, Linda.
This Beatles biopic promises to be a "first-of-its-kind binge-able theatrical experience" and is slated for release sometime in 2028.
