Are Travis Kelce, of the Kansas City Chiefs, and pop sensation Taylor Swift guilty of fanning the flames of matrimony rumors by taking a monumental step in their relationship? The tight end and the "Cruel Summer" crooner sparked whispers of wedding bells after a wedding planner seemingly outed them as "Taylor and Travis Kelce" at a family member's nuptials in Tennessee. However, E! News has clarified that the pair have yet to tie the knot.
On June 9th, the event planning team elliestyled shared an Instagram Story showcasing a breathtaking, flower-adorned table setting, with seat assignments prominently displayed. Amidst the lush decor, a blue envelope labeled "table 13" caught the camera's eye, bearing the names "Taylor and Travis Kelce."
The clip set tongues wagging among fans, who pondered whether the envelope heralded the couple's own journey down the aisle, with Taylor perhaps adopting Travis's surname. "Taylor and Travis KELCE at table 13," one inquisitive user remarked on June 9th. "Should I say congratulations?" Another wondered aloud if they had missed a grand announcement, asking, "They got married?"
Yet, others suggested that the naming convention could merely have been a stylistic choice for the occasion. One user rationalized, "That's usually standard for weddings, I believe." Another argued, "This is very common for couples (married and unmarried) at weddings. It's all about the aesthetic."
Several eagle-eyed fans also noted discrepancies in the event planner's Instagram posts, tagging a different couple alongside Tanner and Samantha and clarifying in another Instagram Story that Taylor and Travis were attending a separate wedding. "The planner literally says this is not a real invite," one keen observer pointed out. "It's just for the video/designing process."
While Taylor and Travis, both 35, haven't yet exchanged "I dos," the couple, who made their romance public in September 2023, has shown no signs of their love story waning. In fact, Travis recently demonstrated his unwavering support for Taylor by cheering her on as she triumphantly bought back the masters to her music after a six-year legal battle. "Shout out to Tay Tay," Travis exclaimed on an episode of his New Heights podcast on June 4th. "Just bought all of her music back, so it's finally hers."
