Ariana Grande floats onto Oscars 2025 red carpet in haute couture corset gown

Ariana Grande's bubble of fame remains intact and vibrant. The "Wicked" actress elegantly carried forward her Glinda-inspired wardrobe trend onto the glamorous Oscars 2025 red carpet, where she made a breathtaking entrance donned in a ghostly pale pink, corseted Schiaparelli ballgown. Adorning the voluminous couture masterpiece, she wore a De Beers diamond choker and matching stud earrings, while her hair was meticulously styled in a chic updo, perfectly suited for the occasion.

This same dress, which was displayed on the Paris Couture Fashion Week runway in January—a runway Kendall Jenner also graced—was showcased last month in a lighter champagne hue. Grande's gown boasts an astonishing count of over 190,000 crystal sequins and rhinestones, adorning its magnificent skirt. Perhaps Grande, now 31, chose the pink shade as a nod to her character, embracing the whimsical, vintage aesthetic of the world of Oz throughout the "Wicked" press tour and subsequent awards campaign.

The singer-songwriter's Oscars look barely diverged from the soft, ethereal silhouettes in delicate shades of pale pinks and yellows that have come to define her "Glinda-ification." Grande walked the Oscars carpet separately from her boyfriend and "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater, who wore a classic black tuxedo for the evening and arrived ahead of the pop star.

Grande commenced the ceremony by shedding her red carpet ensemble and transforming into a custom sequined red strapless Schiaparelli gown to perform alongside Cynthia Erivo. This ballgown was a homage to Dorothy's iconic ruby red slippers, with the back expertly crafted in the shape of a shoe, resting perfectly between her shoulder blades. She delivered a breathtaking rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," while Cynthia Erivo followed with "Home" from "The Wiz," before the duo joined together to conclude with "Defying Gravity."

At last week's SAG Awards, the "No Tears Left to Cry" singer opted for a light pink, off-the-shoulder Loewe gown adorned with floral appliqués. Grande was nominated for the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, but ultimately lost to Zoe Saldaña for her role in "Emilia Perez."

Tonight, the "Eternal Sunshine" singer is once again nominated in the same category, facing fierce competition from Saldaña, as well as Monica Barbaro ("A Complete Unknown"), Felicity Jones ("The Brutalist"), and Isabella Rossellini ("Conclave"). We eagerly anticipate a night filled with wicked wonder and unforgettable moments.
