Ariana Grande is thrilled that the world is finally getting to know her beau, Ethan Slater. During a stop in Los Angeles on the press tour for "Wicked" on Saturday, November 9th, the 31-year-old pop star, while chatting with Entertainment Tonight, eagerly expressed her excitement for her fans to have the opportunity to meet her 32-year-old sweetheart. In a joint interview with her co-star Cynthia Erivo, Grande revealed that her partner, who previously starred in "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical," is a perfect gentleman who always lends her a helping hand on the red carpet – even holding up the trains of her flowing gowns. "He's always adorable," she said with a smile. "He's so incredible in this film, and such an amazing person. I'm overjoyed that people are finally getting to know him. My heart is truly happy."
That same evening, ET also caught up with Slater to discuss what it's been like working with Grande. "I am so proud of Ariana," the actor, who portrays Boq in the upcoming film, said with a grateful heart. "She's absolutely incredible in this movie, and I'm just grateful to be able to share in the celebration with her."
In a recent interview with GQ, published on October 30th, Slater opened up about the challenges of having their relationship scrutinized by the public. "There's something really difficult about having your private life commented on and scrutinized by the public," he admitted. "But the hard parts that we're talking about are the personal struggles that everyone in the world goes through. So, I'm really focused on the real people in my life, who are affected by these things, and doing right by them, rather than paying attention to the Twitter comments," he continued.
Grande and Slater's romance was confirmed in July 2023, after they met on the set of "Wicked." This came after Grande separated from her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, and Slater parted ways with his ex-wife, Lilly Jay. Grande and Slater are joined by an ensemble cast including Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang, Peter Dinklage, and Michelle Yeoh in the Jon M. Chu-directed film.
"Wicked" will be released in two parts, with the first installment hitting theaters on November 22nd, and the second scheduled for November 26th, 2025.
