Grande and her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, have just wrapped up a whirlwind global press tour for director Jon M. Chu's "Wicked: For Good," the second installment of Universal's adaptation of the classic Broadway play and book. Grande stars as Glinda the Good Witch, while Erivo takes on the role of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. The movie is set to hit cinemas in North America on November 21st, just before Thanksgiving weekend.

The global press tour had its moments of tension when an overzealous fan broke through the security line during a red carpet event in Singapore and rushed towards the actresses, aggressively throwing his arms around them. Erivo swiftly sprang into action, shoving the fan away and wrapping her arms around Grande, along with co-star Michelle Yeoh, to diffuse the tense security incident.

During an appearance on the Today show on Thursday, Erivo shared her instinctive rescue of her co-star in Singapore: "I wasn't really thinking. I just wanted to make sure my friend was safe. I'm sure he didn't mean us harm, but you never know with those things, and I wanted to make sure that she was okay. That was my first instinct."

The Hollywood Reporter has forecast a record-breaking Thanksgiving feast for "Wicked: For Good," with a domestic gross of over $120 million and north of $200 million worldwide. This would be the best start for a Broadway musical adaptation ever.
