For those who may not be aware, the 31-year-old Miami-based influencer was discovered unconscious in her hotel room in Zanzibar, East Africa. According to Where is the Buzz?, Ashlee was swiftly rushed to the nearest medical facility, where she was pronounced deceased. However, an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the internet personality's death is ongoing.
Ashlee, whose real name is Ashly Robinson, had traveled to Zanzibar with her boyfriend Joe McCann on April 5th to celebrate her birthday. The influencer's family has released a statement on social media, revealing that they are assisting Zanzibari authorities with the ongoing investigation.
"One moment she was celebrating love and life in truly Ashly fashion, and the next, she was gone," the joint statement from Ashlee and Joe's families reads. "The suddenness of it all, the unanswered questions, and the distance from home have made this tragedy even more overwhelming for our family."
The statement continues, "Ashly was deeply loved. She was vibrant, full of life, and had so much ahead of her. Our family is completely devastated."
"We appreciate the prayers and compassion we have received as we navigate this unimaginable loss. We respectfully ask that any information not directly provided by our family be treated as unverified and not considered factual at this time," the joint family statement concludes.
