On Wednesday, the National Forensic Service conducted an autopsy to ascertain the cause of the untimely demise of renowned singer-songwriter, Wheesung. The talented artist was discovered deceased at his Seoul residence on Monday, with absolutely no indications suggesting foul play. Authorities are currently investigating whether he might have left behind any written note, amidst reports claiming the discovery of at least one syringe in close proximity to him at his home. Notably, Wheesung had faced legal repercussions in 2021, receiving a two-year suspended sentence for his misuse of propofol.
Tajoy Entertainment, his managing agency, has announced that a funeral hall will be established at Samsung Medical Center in southern Seoul for three days, commencing from Friday. This decision marks a deviation from the agency's earlier assertion that the funeral arrangements would be held in a private capacity. "Initially, considering the fragile health of his mother, the service was intended to be private. However, we have since reconsidered and decided to provide an opportunity for those who cherished him to grieve collectively," the agency clarified.
In a poignant tribute, Wheesung's brother recalled his sibling, stating, "He bore an immeasurable loneliness that no one could adequately comfort. Through music, he fiercely lived his life, seeking solace from those overwhelming emotions." He extended a heartfelt invitation to fans, urging, "Please do not hesitate to accompany my brother on his final journey, ensuring he does not face his final moments alone."
