American tennis ace Ben Shelton has made his romance with Trinity Rodman, daughter of five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman, Instagram official. The U.S. Open semifinalist confirmed his relationship with Trinity in a captivating post on social media on Monday. The last snapshot in the series of images depicted Trinity affectionately kissing Shelton on the cheek as they waited patiently in an elevator.
"I've been laser-focused on my goals, but I'm steadily ascending, far from reaching my zenith," Shelton penned in his heartfelt post. Trinity, ever the playful one, responded with a cheeky comment, "Shooters shoot, I suppose."
The exact timing of their romance's inception remains somewhat of a mystery. However, several fellow tennis stars weighed in on the post, hinting that the tennis circuit may have already been privy to their blossoming relationship.
"A hard launch, indeed!" exclaimed 2023 U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff. Fellow American tennis star Frances Tiafoe added, "We're Instagram official now!"
Trinity made headlines in December when she appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, candidly discussing her strained relationship with her father. She revealed that the NBA Hall of Famer had been largely absent from her life.
"It's challenging because even now, as I strive to be honest, I still find myself offering him sympathy," she shared during the episode. "It's frustrating because, in reality, I believe he's an incredibly selfish person. It's always been about him. He's been through a lot, but at the same time, he thrives in the spotlight. He adores the cameras and loves parading his children on stage, saying, 'Oh, these are my kids.' All that stuff... It's emotionally tumultuous for me."
Rodman responded to his daughter's comments with a social media apology, which Trinity, who dons the jersey for the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), dismissed as a "joke."
Previously, Trinity's name had been romantically linked to NFL free agent Trinity Benson in 2024.
