Pedestrians in London were left baffled when they witnessed a Hollywood star, Benedict Cumberbatch, stopping traffic to engage in a heated argument with a man on a bicycle. The incident, captured in a video shared by the Singaporean newspaper Straits Times, showed the Doctor Strange actor engaged in a verbal spat with a fellow cyclist who accused him of running multiple red lights.

"I didn't," Cumberbatch shouted in the edited clip from May 5. "Once, and I admitted to it."

The male cyclist, whose face was obscured by a covering, retorted, "You're deluded, you're lying. I was behind you the entire time."

As the two continued their heated exchange, a crowd of onlookers gathered around them. Cumberbatch asserted, "Dude, you verbally abused me," to which the cyclist replied sarcastically. "Oh no, I verbally abused you because you completely and repeatedly broke the law," he said in a mocking tone.

The back-and-forth continued for 10 minutes, according to an eyewitness who told Page Six, "It was crazy. It was such a pompous road rage; it almost felt like it had been staged."

After the cyclist finally continued on his way, Cumberbatch stayed behind to pose for photos with fans. "Benedict still managed to charm everyone watching even though he was having a meltdown," added the onlooker.

Representatives for Cumberbatch did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment. However, the British actor went about his business as usual following the May 5 incident. Three days later, he attended David Attenborough's 100 Years on Planet Earth event at Royal Albert Hall with his wife, Sophie Hunter. And on May 11, the Marvel star mingled with King Charles at the 50th anniversary of The King's Trust, also at Royal Albert Hall.
