From sitting in the shower, tears streaming down his face, to contemplating the fragility of life, Benny Blanco's bathing rituals encapsulate a myriad of human experiences. The 36-year-old Grammy-nominated producer, during a light-hearted TikTok session filmed behind the scenes of their Interview magazine March issue cover shoot, unveiled the veil of his unconventional shower routines alongside his fiancée, Selena Gomez. As the couple answered a few questions, Gomez, 32, promptly pointed to Blanco when asked who of the two takes the longest showers. Not only did Blanco embrace her response but he also elaborated on his penchant for prolonged showers.

"Alright, I might not indulge in a shower every day, but when I do, and when I feel it's my well-deserved moment, I find myself lost in contemplation for an eternity," Blanco revealed. "I make it a habit to sit in every shower I step into."

Yet, his self-care sessions aren't merely about relaxation and introspection; they also serve as an emotional outlet. "Have you ever experienced the therapeutic tears in the shower? It's nothing short of amazing," Blanco shared with Interview before turning to his singer fiancée. Addressing Gomez, he inquired, "Do you ever shed a few tears in the shower?" To which she responded with a hearty laugh. "Sometimes, you just need a good cry," he added thoughtfully.

Moreover, Blanco disclosed another pivotal aspect of his shower time – what he terms as "death realizations." "Every time I'm in the shower, death realizations strike me," he confessed in the BTS TikTok video, causing Gomez, visibly startled by the revelation, to exclaim, "Whoa." "No, seriously, I realize I'm mortal, but it happens in the shower," he clarified, prompting Gomez to use question cards to shield her face. "And then, I shed a few tears over it, and soon after, the gloom lifts, leaving me rejuvenated by... the warmth of the water," he said, cutting himself short from further shower chatter and concluding, "Alright, let's move to the next question."

Blanco's shower-centric discourse with Interview Magazine follows months after he initially opened up about his bathing habits in PEOPLE's 2024 Sexiest Man Alive issue. While sharing his philosophies on self-care, the producer advised in the November issue, "Stay fresh. Do what it takes." He also revealed to PEOPLE that he doesn't "adhere to the daily shampooing (or conditioning) routine." "I'm spotlessly clean, but I don't shower daily," he shared earlier. "Some people I know bathe two to three times a day, but I believe the natural oils on your skin need time to rejuvenate and get that glow back."

As for his preferred scent, whether post-shower or otherwise, Blanco expressed his fondness for a "melange." "I aspire to smell like tobacco, yet carry a hint of cotton candy. I want my aroma to trail me as I walk by," he elaborated. "I desire a scent that's a bit masculine, a touch feminine – I definitely lean towards the feminine side in every facet."
