Benny Blanco's mother, Sandra Levin, was the victim of a chilling home invasion in her Studio City, California, residence this week, forcing her to take refuge in a bathroom during the break-in, according to police. The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. local time on Monday, November 24th, when three masked men broke into her home while she was alone, as reported by ABC7. The intruders allegedly entered by shattering a sliding glass door. When Levin heard the commotion, she fled upstairs, locking herself in a bathroom and dialing 911 for assistance, as per the Los Angeles Police Department's account.
While the victim's name was not specifically mentioned, neighbors and property records reportedly confirmed it was Levin's residence, as per ABC7. She reportedly told police that during the robbery, the suspects allegedly kicked down the bathroom door.
When police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already fled and remain at large. They were clad in dark clothing and masks when they entered the home, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Fortunately, Levin was unharmed in the incident, though several rooms in her home were "ransacked," and unspecified property was stolen from the residence, as reported by ABC7.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department and a representative for Blanco for comment on the incident.
Over the years, Blanco, 37, has been vocal about his close bond with his mother. In an interview with PEOPLE in 2024, he described her as his "best friend." "Every Sunday we go to the farmer's market. I cook her lunch, we swim, we gossip about stuff," he said. "She sends me things and is like, 'Do you think it's true?' I'm like, 'I don't even know who these two people are we're talking about.'"
Levin has also been a strong supporter of Blanco's relationship with his new wife, Selena Gomez, whom he married in September. In fact, Levin is such a fan of Gomez that she wears a special memento of the couple around her neck.
Blanco, born Benjamin Levin, is the youngest of Sandra and her ex-husband Andrew Levin's two children, joined by older brother Jeremy, 37.
