The heartfelt appeal, penned by organizer Kori Smith, reads: "Today, we unite with heavy hearts, asking for your support. Mickey has recently undergone a series of cardiac arrests and is now in the ICU, in a critical but stable condition. Surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, the road ahead is long and challenging."
The GoFundMe further emphasizes that Mickey and her family are currently grappling with "enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills" as well as "ongoing care and recovery costs." The fundraiser is specifically set up to help cover medical expenses not reimbursed by insurance, including ICU and specialist care, rehabilitation, recovery support, and the associated costs of family travel, lodging, and more.
"Mickey has touched so many lives with her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on 'Big Brother.' Let's show her the same love and support now when she needs it most," the campaign adds.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Mickey now resides in Atlanta, as per the fundraising page. As of Monday, December 22nd, the GoFundMe page - which has also been shared on Mickey's official Instagram - has amassed a total of $6,099 towards its ultimate goal of $13,000.
Mickey graced the most recent season of CBS's "Big Brother," which aired from July 10 to September 28. The long-running reality competition series features a group of contestants, known as "houseguests," who live together in a specially constructed house while navigating alliances, rivalries, and social strategy to avoid eviction. Mickey was evicted from the house during the September 4th episode.
