On Sunday, she addressed her "dear fans in Chicago" on her Instagram account, offering an explanation for the sudden end to their performance. "Thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and — most importantly — your prayers. I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night's performance in Chicago," she wrote. "After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, I experienced dehydration and a sudden urge to faint. Every member of the team agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance."
Despite feeling unwell, Brandy still made the decision to return and give her all. However, with the need for adjustments and the show's technical nature, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production. "I really appreciate everyone's best efforts," she continued.
According to reports, Monica performed the rest of their set solo, and the audience missed out on hearing their iconic song, "The Boy Is Mine," which the tour is named after. In her post, Brandy revealed that she immediately saw a doctor after leaving the arena and has taken "the proper precautions" to get better going forward. She thanked her sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism, as well as the entire crew for their continued care and support.
She also expressed her gratitude to her fans. "Your understanding, patience, and unwavering belief mean the world to me," she wrote.
