Brian Austin Green has struck back with a clever counterpunch after Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) slid into his direct messages (DMs) with an unexpected jibe. The 51-year-old actor reposted a screenshot of his conversation with the 34-year-old musician on his Instagram Stories, revealing how Kelly had sent him a message reprimanding him for incessantly inquiring about the due date of his baby with Megan Fox, 38.
Kelly, who is eagerly anticipating his first child with Fox and is already a father to his 15-year-old daughter Casie, wasn't holding back. He fired off a message to Green, stating, "Stop asking when our child is gonna be born. You're acting like the FEDS (Federal agents)." He further told Green to "Quit calling TMZ and focus on that apology you owe me for mentioning my name publicly." Kelly didn't stop there; he added, "You picked the wrong guy to mess with, mr. child actor. You should stick to cereal commercials."
In his response on Instagram Stories, Green added a layer of humor and sarcasm to the mix. Beneath the screenshot, he wrote, "I didn't know 'child actor' was something negative." He then took a playful jab at Leonardo DiCaprio, writing, "Leo, be careful. He might come for you next."
This exchange captures the playful yet sharp-edged banter between the two, painting a vivid picture of an unexpected social media spat that's as entertaining as it is unexpected.
Back in February, Green engaged in a heartfelt conversation with PEOPLE, opening up about a screenshot he posted of Kelly lambasting an article detailing his past relationship with Fox. On February 3rd, in an Instagram Stories post—now expired but shared by TMZ—Green penned, "Bro, for once in your life, just be honest. Don't let your concern for public perception drive you to drag others down with you."
At that time, the Knots Landing star revealed to PEOPLE that he hadn't heard a word from Kelly since posting the message, and he didn't anticipate hearing from him anytime soon. "That's not something I usually do," Green confessed. "But at that moment, reading his perspective really got under my skin. So, I let my feelings out. However, I've since come to realize that I won't be doing that again. I'm going to zip my lips and take a step back."
Following the December revelation of rapper Kelly's separation from Fox, which emerged just days after their breakup was reported, the actor offered his thoughts on the matter, his comments serving as his initial reaction to the news. In a clip shared by TMZ, when questioned about the split, Green responded with genuine surprise, stating, "I didn't even know. No, I had absolutely no inkling of it."
After the reporter accused Kelly of betraying his former fiancée, Green responded with a mix of disbelief and disapproval, saying, "How old is he, do you even know? He's in his thirties, for goodness sake. What's he thinking? In your thirties, you should know better—I don't even know what to say. Just grow up. And she's pregnant, too."
"All I want is the best for her," Green insisted passionately, "the best for the baby, and the best for our children." He continued, his voice tinged with heartache, "It's a real shame. I'm absolutely heartbroken over this, because I know she's been over the moon with excitement, and the kids were thrilled about the new chapter in their lives, the changes, everything. It's just devastating."
