Brie Larson, Lily Collins, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding are poised to headline "Close Personal Friends," a hilarious comedy helmed by Jason Orley for Amazon MGM Studios. This feature marks Orley's latest venture, following his acclaimed writing and directing stint on the Pete Davidson-led coming-of-age film "Big Time Adolescence," for which he is renowned for his numerous collaborative efforts with the comedian.

For "Close Personal Friends," which has undergone several title transformations, Orley has co-crafted the narrative with Isaac Aptaker, with the latter taking charge of penning the script. Much of the story remains shrouded in mystery, but it revolves around a couple who, during a trip to Santa Barbara, crosses paths with and befriends a celebrity duo. As personal boundaries blur and awkward moments pile up, laughter ensues in abundance.

Production is set to commence in London in September. Aptaker is producing alongside Elizabeth Berger, his partner at Walk-Up Company, as well as Ashley Fox and Johnny Pariseau from Maximum Effort. Orley will serve as an executive producer.

This project reunites Orley, Aptaker, and Berger with Amazon MGM, following their 2022 romantic comedy "I Want You Back," starring Charlie Day and Jenny Slate.

Larson, who portrays Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and garnered an Oscar for her role in the indie drama "Room," recently executive produced and starred in Apple TV+'s "Lessons in Chemistry," earning her nominations at the Emmys, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, and Golden Globes. She is represented by WME and Sloane Offer.

Quaid has had a standout year, starring in New Line's beloved sci-fi thriller "Companion" and Paramount's action thriller "Novocaine." He most recently appeared in Amazon MGM's action film "Heads of State" and is represented by UTA, Anonymous Content, and Sloane Offer.

Collins shines as the lead in Netflix's hit series "Emily in Paris." Her most recent big-screen appearance was in "Maxxine," the final installment of Ti West and A24's cult horror trilogy "X." She is represented by CAA, LBI Entertainment, Definition Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.

Golding rose to fame with his breakthrough role in Warner Bros.' "Crazy Rich Asians." He currently stars in Guy Ritchie's Netflix series "The Gentlemen" and appeared in the streamer's "Old Guard 2." He is represented by CAA, Megan Silverman Management, and Goodman Genow.

Orley is represented by UTA, Rise Management, and Hansen Jacobson.

This star-studded comedy promises to be a laughter-filled adventure, blending the lives of ordinary individuals with those of the elite, all while navigating the tricky waters of friendship and boundaries.
