The relationship between Britney Spears and her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline, has reportedly been fraught with complications in recent years. Despite small steps forward with the kids behind the scenes, one son continues to keep his distance while the other is more receptive to his mother's presence. Hence, any real reset with the distant son may still take time.
According to Star magazine, Britney's younger son, Jayden, has been spending time with his mom and has even tried to help smooth things over with his older brother, Sean. A source revealed that both boys love their mother, but in recent years, it's only Jayden who has been willing to spend time with her. Sean, on the other hand, has had limited contact with his mother.
The insider claimed that Sean has only spoken to his mother a couple of times, mostly just to make his brother happy, but so far, he hasn't been willing to visit her. The report suggested that Sean's hesitation hasn't changed much, with an insider claiming that he's still very wary of his mother. In contrast, Jayden seems less shaken by Britney's behavior: "Jayden understands where Sean is coming from, but he's not nearly as bothered by his mom's antics. A lot of what she does seems to roll off his back."
The source also pointed to how the brothers handled the holidays. While Jayden spent Christmas with Britney in California, Sean chose to spend the holiday in Louisiana with his aunt, Jamie Lynn Spears, and her family. As far as gifts and money go, Britney spoiled Jayden, of course, but the source explained that it wasn't the reason for his presence. In fact, Britney still gave Sean just as much even though he went to his sister's place.
Despite the distance from her elder son, the source claimed that Britney hasn't shut either kid out emotionally. They added that her love for them is totally unconditional and that she doesn't withhold her love from her boys, no matter what she might say when she's angry.
