Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Retain Lawyer of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Amid Family Tensions

Published: Jun 03 2025

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly enlisted the legal expertise of Jenny Afia, an esteemed attorney previously retained by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, amidst swirling tensions within the Beckham clan, as revealed by PEOPLE. The 26-year-old Beckham and his 30-year-old spouse Peltz are believed to be collaborating with Afia, who practices at the prestigious Schillings law firm, according to initial reports by the Daily Mail.

Representatives for the couple declined to offer any remarks, while a legal insider told PEOPLE, "There is no tangible link to Meghan and Harry. Schillings is a highly regarded firm with a diverse clientele." The source further emphasized, "Ironically, these incorrect reports underscore precisely why one would seek legal counsel—to clarify the record and counter the dissemination of deliberate falsehoods."

According to the Mail, Beckham and Peltz, who wed in 2022, have retained the distinguished lawyer to oversee their "reputation management." Afia previously advocated for Meghan in her privacy and copyright infringement lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday's publishers and also appeared in the BBC documentary, The Princes and the Press. During that time, with Meghan's consent, Afia addressed allegations of bullying by the Duchess of Sussex towards her staff post-marriage to Harry—claims that her office has consistently denied over the years.

This development surfaces after Beckham and Peltz attended a recent dinner party hosted by Meghan and Harry in Montecito, California, last month. PEOPLE understands that the dinner was a group gathering at the Montecito residence of Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures, and his wife, Tracy Robbins, close friends of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Notably, the couple was not personally invited by Meghan and Harry.

"Brooklyn and Nicola were invited prior to David's multiple international birthday galas, so the timing is merely coincidental," a source exclusively revealed to PEOPLE. Elaborating further, the source stated, "Despite being an intimate affair, several other guests, including VIPs and film executives, were present. Brooklyn and Nicola thoroughly enjoyed themselves and found Harry and Meghan to be incredibly kind, compassionate, and magnanimous."
