Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham have been embracing their own unique style of date nights, seemingly leaving the recent family drama behind as they attended Elton John's AIDS Foundation's 34th annual Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood on March 15th. The couple, who walked the red carpet in coordinating black ensembles, displayed their timeless elegance and good spirits at the star-studded event. Nicola, 31, chose a black, one-shoulder gown with tiny cutouts and lace, while Brooklyn, 27, kept it traditional in a black suit.
Despite their radiant appearances, the couple has been navigating a rocky few months. In January, Brooklyn made headlines after alleging that his parents—who also share Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14—had attempted to drive a wedge between him and Nicola. He shared his thoughts in a social media statement on January 19th, stating: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled; I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."
The chef further alleged that his parents have "controlled narratives in the press about our family" throughout his life and that his mother "danced very inappropriately" at their 2022 wedding. He also claimed that his parents have been "trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped."
Though David and Victoria have remained mostly quiet about Brooklyn's claims, they did send their son some well wishes for his birthday in March. "Happy birthday Brooklyn," they wrote in an Instagram Story alongside a throwback photo of themselves with their son. "We love you so much."
However, despite this message, it does not seem like things have improved much for the family. In fact, hours before his Oscars outing with Nicola, Brooklyn seemingly shaded his mother by honoring his mother-in-law Claudia Heffner Peltz in a birthday tribute on UK's Mother's Day. "Happy birthday to the best mother-in-law x," Brooklyn wrote on his Instagram Stories on March 14th, though Claudia's birthday was two days earlier. "Love u so much and hope u had the most amazing day."
